We’re going to show you how to assemble a gaming chair so that you can begin playing as soon as it’s ready.

To understand how to assemble a gaming chair, you first need to know the names of its different parts and their functions.

Learning about the different parts will help you connect each one to ensure that they work correctly.

1. Headrest, Backrest, and Armrest

Arguably the most critical parts of a gaming chair are the headrest, backrest, and armrests.

These parts are responsible for providing you with the utmost comfort no matter what your position is while playing.

Also, they guarantee that you don’t suffer from various musculoskeletal conditions.

They make sure your entire body has enough support in all the right places, from your head down to your back and arms.

2. Seat Pan

The seat pan is located below and between the two armrests and supports your legs and lower body.

This part should be stuffed with ample cushion to prevent straining.

Basically, its goal is to ensure that you remain comfortable even after sitting for hours on end.

3. Wheel Base and Casters

The wheelbase is at the bottom of the chair and has five or more casters.

Most wheelbases are made with alloy, but there are also those made of plastic.

On the other hand, casters are often made with alloys.

However, because of their weight and the risk of damaging the floor, some casters are made using fiber-plastic.

4. Gas Lift Spring

Your gaming chair needs to be adjustable to match the height of the table, which is what the gas lift spring is for.

It is a special mechanism that will allow you to lower or raise the height of the seat pan from the wheelbase.

5. Tilt Mechanism

When you use your gaming chair, there would be times when you want to lean your entire back onto it, especially if you’ve been sitting for a few hours.

That’s when a tilt mechanism becomes important.

This gaming chair component allows the entire headrest and backrest to tilt to a certain angle.

How to Assemble a Gaming Chair

Now that you’ve had a general idea of all the different parts of a gaming chair, it’s time to figure out how to assemble it.

Don’t worry. It’s actually rather easy. Refer to the steps below to build your throne.

Step 1: Unpack and organize.

The first thing you need to do is unpack all the gaming chair parts and lay them out on the floor.

More often than not, the package will include a list of all the parts that must be inside the box.

Be sure to check that every part of the gaming chair is present.

Try to group the screws, bolts, and other parts according to their sizes to make the entire process easier.

Step 2: Connect the underside of the seat to the main chair mechanism.

The first two parts you will need to piece together are the seat pan and the main chair mechanism.

The latter usually includes the levers for the gas strut and the tilt feature.

You simply have to attach this part to the underside of the seat, where you’ll also find four holes for screws and bolts.

Once you do so, make sure that you tighten the bolts properly to prevent the seat from wiggling.

The gas strut is usually already attached to the main chair mechanism in most gaming chairs.

Step 3: Connect the casters to the wheel base.

Set the seat pan and the main chair mechanism aside for a moment and attach the casters to the wheelbase.

More often than not, you just need to push the casters into their designated slots.

This means it doesn’t require any screw or bolt to be attached.

Step 4: Attach the wheel base to the main chair.

Once you’ve assembled both of these major parts, the next step is to attach the wheel base to the main chair.

After doing so, you should already have half of the gaming chair assembled.

Depending on the gaming chair, attaching the wheel base to the main chair mechanism and gas strut only needs a little push or a few bolts and screws.

Step 5: Attach the headrest, backrest, and armrests.

You should find a designated hole near the rear of the main chair mechanism.

This is where you attach the protruding piece of metal connected to the headrest and backrest.

There would also be slots for bolts and screws that will allow you to tighten these pieces together.

Lastly, the armrest should connect from the middle of the backrest to the side of the seat pan.

Make sure that you have a long Allen wrench or hex key, as the bolt is often deep into the side of the armrest.

Step 6: Tighten everything and test it out.

Once everything is attached to where it should be, you should already have the gaming chair assembled.

Even so, we do not recommend using it just yet. Instead, take the time to tighten all the bolts first before finally testing it out.

Jump on it a bit, push it around, and check all the adjustment mechanisms if all of them are properly working.

Also, expect to tighten a few bolts and screws now and then, as they can get loose due to constant use.
